Yesterday I got my first Jury Summons. I literally yelped in excitement when I saw the envelope. I'm a big boy now!
Unfortunately I'm assigned "standby duty", so I have to call two hours before the scheduled time to see if they want me.

Hm, I also got one yesterday, except I uttered a few expletives.
I don't want to miss work and I don't want to have to be in downtown Dallas at 7:45 in the morning, which means riding the DART train at an even more ungodly time.
I really, really don't want to be selected because I can't miss that much work if I am :/
7:45am? That sucks.
Luckily for me, I don't have to be there until 2 PM.
The summons actually said 8:30, but the website said to arrive 45 minutes early for a "security screening".
To comfort myself, I'm going to buy a book or three to read while I'm there.
